La Mujer Inversa is a singer/songwriter from Zaragoza, Spain. In 2020 we worked on the art for her first EP and 3 single releases, along with a physical digipak containing a 12-page booklet. The songs in 'Fénix' speak of the artist's harshest experiences; the album symbolizes her resurgence like a phoenix rising from the ashes. 'Fénix' was finally released in 2023.
3 singles were published before the EP release. We wanted to keep the phoenix unrevealed, yet incorporate it into all covers in some way. We decided to introduce its energy passing through the scenarios described in the songs, tracing a common thread between all the covers and the ring of the main artwork: a circle symbolizing reincarnation and eternal return. Different nods to the phoenix were included in every scene: the scratches on the trees, the tracks in the mud, the feathers in the air.
We used these and some additional artworks to build the physical edition. The back cover is an extension of the front artwork. The disc is the ring alone: the pure energy that is the music it contains. Through the pages of the booklet we travel across the different scenarios of the songs, accompanying the phoenix in a process of catharsis in which chaos gradually gives way to calmness and serenity.
